swissQprint’s  Path to Eco-Friendly Excellence

swissQprint, the renowned Swiss printer manufacturer for UV flatbed and roll-to-roll printers, stands out as a leader in sustainable business practices. Behind the array of high-quality, cutting-edge printers lies an engaging narrative of dedication to quality, longevity, and environmental consciousness.

swissQprint, the privately owned business with a focus on customers, is not an ordinary printer manufacturer. With a deep-seated commitment to customers, this swissQprint boasts a team of 200 dedicated employees across six subsidiaries. Yet their influence isn't restricted to Switzerland—more than 1800 swissQprint printers are making an impact worldwide.

At the core of swissQprint’s beliefs lies an unwavering commitment to sustainability. The company's vision extends beyond mere lip service; it's a driving force behind every decision they make. Their Swiss-built machines, which are not considered ‘entry-level’ machines, have gained a reputation for unmatched quality. And quality is the foundation of sustainability. Over 90% of swissQprint printer parts are sourced from loyal Swiss manufacturing partners, with most of these partners located within an 80-kilometer radius. This hyper-local approach significantly reduces CO2 emissions during procurement.

Besides this, swissQprint’s production site operates largely on renewable energy sources. The company HQ runs without fossil fuels—the site harnesses the power of the river Rhine for heating, cooling, and the building has installed automatic LED lighting throughout. Their commitment doesn't stop there: Their next upcoming project involves installing solar panels on their premises, a step toward complete self-sufficiency in energy consumption.

swissQprint’s machines are more than just machines; they're a testament to Swiss craftsmanship. Since 2008, these machines have been constructed to withstand the test of time, with over 90% of the initial models still in operation today. This longevity not only reduces the environmental impact but also demonstrates that sustainability doesn't equate to a compromise in performance.

When the time does come for replacement, swissQprint ensures that even the disposal process is environmentally responsible. High-quality raw materials like steel and aluminium, pivotal to their machines, are easily recyclable, with minimal plastic parts used. However, currently swissQprint’s second and third-hand machines thrive in a robust market, enabling customers to upgrade while minimising waste. swissQprint takes machines back, expertly refurbishes them, and ensures that faulty parts are repaired, nurturing a reliable circular system that embodies Swiss quality and innovation.

Energy efficiency is the cornerstone of swissQprint’s design philosophy. Their ISO-certified machines consume a mere 2.2 kW on average per hour, setting new benchmarks for sustainability in the printing industry. By focusing on longevity, energy efficiency, and recyclability, swissQprint has redefined the essence of eco-friendliness within the traditional print industry.
