“Be the change” is the message that we have adopted for the next iteration of EcoPrint, 10 years after the first edition in Berlin. We think it is clear, powerful and personal, particularly when we place it into the context of the environment.

The print and packaging industries employ millions of people globally and make a huge contribution to the economy, society and the environment.

The typical printer and converter business is not a large multinational corporation with huge resources. While they are responsible for the majority of print production globally, these businesses typically do not have sustainability departments. Often, the responsibility for sustainability falls squarely on the shoulders of the owner.

Sustainability is not trivial. It is a strategic investment in the future. It requires time, funding, planning and commitment. Many people do not know where to start, while many others need help in their journey.

EcoPrint is designed for these people. To help accelerate change and to reduce the damage to the environment. Our mission is to connect and educate print technology leaders and print service providers through events, content and conversations. We share inspiring talks of sustainable success, vital trends to be aware of, practical insights from experts, and clear learning from workshops and information from consumers and brands. We will also be discussing the key issues, recognising excellence in innovation and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve actionable outcomes for the print, packaging and retail industries.

We will also be working in collaboration with the EcoPrint Advisory Group to help connect the print and packaging industry with the UN and to help promote the importance of the print and packaging industry to the global economy.

For the EcoPrint Summit, it doesn’t matter whether you are an expert or a novice. Doing something about environmental impact is essential. No matter how insignificant it may seem, we have to start somewhere. The only way that change for good will succeed is if we all commit to doing something, step by step, however small, towards a clear target.

Sustainability is Profitable

Sustainability is now front and centre and has been given extra impetus with the current energy crisis engulfing the world. To be sustainable is to be efficient. And as any sustainable expert will tell you, reducing the use of resources is the most effective way to impact the planet, people and your profit.

The issue has taken a larger role in politics and the eyes of the next generation of leaders. For younger people, it is a no-brainer to be kind to the environment, and any employer looking to win the fight for talent should take note. Younger people just won't want to work for you if you do not have a handle on sustainability.

In partnership with Carbon Quota, EcoPrint is working towards creating an event that minimises carbon output and maximises industry impact.

All EcoPrint banners and signage will be printed on KAVALAN environmentally-friendly PVC-free material.
